Soupjelly
A soupjelly swimming.--------------------------------------------------------------------
Soupjellies are mysterious sea creatures that live near the wonderlandian seashore.
Behavior and Observations
-------------------------------------------
- This creature is entirely edible and doesn't require much preparation before being suitable for consumption.
- They are composed of a warm, savory fluid very similar in flavor and consistency to soup.
- The membrane holding the fluid sack is soft and brittle. It's described to have a texture similar to translucent onion
- Their "tentacles" are noodle-like in flavor and consistency. They are actually part of their sensory system.
- They are able to maintain very high body heat even in the cold ocean water.
- They passively absorb salt from the sea water and, as a result, gives them a subtle saltiness that makes them even more savory.
- Their overall flavor is often described as extremely similar (or even the same) as vegetable soup.
Personal Notes
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I've tried one of these before, they are quite literally the exact same as soup. Main difference is this one has a few more moral quandaries as it's technically alive. Most people don't really think about that anyways but I do wonder how it works. Would it be insensitive to offer a vegan friend some soupjelly? Probably. Are they a better option than normal soup? Maybe..? Who would've thought living soup could be so existentially interesting.
