Common Leviathan

Common Leviathans are direct descendants of the Leviathan species.
Behavior and Observations
-------------------------------------------
- They can survive for multiple hours outside water.
- Their thin, serpentine body allows them to reach exorbitant speeds when swimming along the ocean currents.
- Their skin is covered in a slimy membrane, that makes them more slippery and evasive. This goo is not toxic, but may cause skin irritation.
- They are hervibores, with a diet consisting of algae and kelp.
- Possibly related to the Quetzalcoatl and Jörmungandr species. They share many superficial characteristics, but also some genetic evidence suggests the existence of a common ancestor, speculated to have habitated the land, sea, and sky. Name proposals for this hypothetical species are still undefined.
Personal Notes
--------------------------------------------------------------------
2/3 elemental serpents caught! Although I'm not sure how I will manage to get a picture of a Jörmungandr, mostly beacuse they live underground.
Leviathans have kind of a bad rep because of their bigger, more dangerous relatives the Feral Leviathans. Countless ships are attacked per year near the island, it's a real problem.
