The Common Quetzalcoatl is a subspecies of Quetzalcoatl that is known for being small, friendly and docile.
Behavior and Observations
---------------------------------------------------------
- As their name suggest, they are direct descendants of the Quetzalcoatl species.
- They are very friendly. They often spend time at festivals due to their affinity for lights and bright colors.
- Their coat is feathery and very receptive to touch. Because of this they are known for displaying affection via physical contact.
- While flying at high speeds, they move in a coil-like manner to optimize aerodynamics and increase evasiveness.
- They very rarely travel alone. They're almost always in groups of 2-8
- The "stinger" at the point of their tails is not an actual stinger. It is mostly feathers.
Personal Notes
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I've seen other species of quetzalcoatl in person before and they're pretty spooky, but these little creatures are just so adorable I could never get mad at them. They're very snuggly, sometimes they push you around if you try to ignore them/don't pet them. They usually show up during the village's monthly festival because of all the bright lamps and colorful decorations everywhere. They really just make the whole festival feel more alive and whimsical.
Apart from the festival, they're really not a common sight. Ocassionally you might see one flying in the distant sky but thats about it.
